The Joy of the Road by Filson Young – Limited Edition 1907

1907 Limited Edition of 600 copies 8vo, 63pp, pale blue paper boards with vellum spine, label with small chips, pages uncut,  frontispiece illustration from a painting by Paul Gervais. A very early, finely printed essay on automotive travel, first published in Motor Magazine. Young was a prominent journalist and early motor enthusiast.  A day’s journey on a motor-car is not merely a piece of travel across the spaces of geography; it is often a voyage through the life and history of the land.
